What's Happening?

Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery is pleased to offer a wide variety of both on-going and seasonal events. We invite you to return often to see what’s coming up on our calendar. If you’d like to keep up-to-date, we invite you to visit our social media pages.

Retired Flag Pick-up Site

If you have a flag that is looking bad and is in need of a proper retirement, give it to us. It can be any flag, including ones from associations or organizations. American flags are either cremated with veterans who have agreed to this or they are cremated by themselves and the ashes are placed in our Veteran's Garden of Honor. Bring your flags to us at 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Road in Punta Gorda or we will be glad to pick them up for you.

Vietnam Wall

In mid 2013, a group of Vietnam Veterans in Southwest Florida, discovered that a Vietnam traveling memorial wall located in Texas was up for sale, and the idea of bringing a permanent wall to Charlotte County was born.

October Events

  • Memory Bear Workshop
    Saturday, October 21, 2017 : 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Twice a year a very interesting thing happens at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory.

Family members who have recently lost a loved one bring in items of clothing that belonged to their dearly departed. Our volunteers then help family members cut, sew and stuff the clothes turning them into a beautiful teddy bear that will be cherished as a comforting and heartfelt memory for years to come.

The Memory Bear Workshop happens twice a year. Families are asked to RSVP because the popular event is always full. There is no charge and Charlotte Memorial provides morning treats and a light lunch. Everyone is welcome but they must call and RSVP.

Our upcoming Memory Bear Workshop will be held on Saturday, October 21st, starting at 9:30 AM at 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Road in Punta Gorda. Your contact person is Rick Tuss, Managing Partner. He can be reached at 941-639-1171.
