Obituary of Carlos D Godinho

Carlos D. Godinho Jr, 66, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 16th, 2024, at his home in Port Charlotte, Florida due to complications related to his recent lung cancer diagnosis. Born in Gloucester, Mass on July 14th, 1957, he was the son of the late Marjorie and Carlos Godinho Sr. He grew up in Gloucester & spent most of his life there until moving to Florida in 2013. Carlie worked at Lil Earls Lounge prior to becoming a machinist & welder at Modern Heat & Eastern Fabricator's where he met many of his lifelong friends. He was known for his quick wit, humor & love of the 3 Stooges. He could recite & sing every word of every episode. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk! Carlie also had a soft spot for all animals, especially his cats & his Shih Tzu, Rocko. Carlie was an avid motorcycle, car & gun enthusiast in his younger days. He was a jack of all trades which he learned from our Dad. He was an excellent cook who loved to cook for his family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Michael & Christian, his twin sister & best friend, Carol Godinho, his nephew David Beylard, his wife Jen, great nephew Colton, sister in law, Margie Beylard, his Aunt Joana & Uncle Hank Nazimek of Parsippany, NJ, his Aunt Mimi Godinho of Lisbon, Portugal, his Uncle Mauro de Mouta of Rio de Janiero, Brazil, his ex wife, Nancy Godinho, many beloved cousins & his lifelong best friend, Pete Silva of Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, Larry Beylard & John Godinho, many aunts and uncles & his cousin Christine Williams. Arrangements are under the direction of Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, Fl.
